Overview
Hoosh Tech LLC is committed to lawful use of regulatory materials. All AI-powered modules offered within the Hoosh Tech Portal and the Building QA products operate exclusively on officially adopted, publicly available laws and regulations issued by governmental authorities. This includes, without limitation, the AI Code Assistant, AI Compliance Checker, and additional AI compliance modules for plan analysis, completeness checks, and related regulatory assessments. Hoosh Tech LLC does not ingest, use, or rely on proprietary materials from the International Code Council (ICC) or any other commercial publisher. Our compliance modules apply structured rulesets derived from official regulatory texts; if the AI extraction step cannot confidently identify a required checkpoint, the item is labeled “Undetermined” and routed for human plan-checker review.
Explicit Non-Use of ICC Materials
- No ICC Model Codebooks: We do not ingest, store, vectorize, index, or otherwise process ICC model codebooks or premium/proprietary editions.
- No ICC Proprietary Formats: We do not reproduce ICC’s proprietary pagination, layouts, or ancillary content (commentaries, handbooks, annotations, or premium diagrams).
- No Reliance on ICC Content: Our tools do not generate outputs from ICC-licensed sources and are not trained on ICC-proprietary text.
- Non-Affiliation: Hoosh Tech LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of ICC.
Sources of Code and Regulatory Material
Our AI tools reference only officially adopted and publicly published regulatory content issued by governmental bodies, including:
- Building Codes and Standards — as promulgated or adopted by national, state, and local governmental authorities.
- Jurisdictional Amendments and Supplements — formal modifications adopted by cities, counties, or agencies.
- Municipal Zoning Codes and Ordinances — including zoning overlays, maps, and tabular requirements published by the applicable jurisdiction.
Example (California): The California Building Standards Code (Title 24) as adopted by the California Building Standards Commission (CBSC), jurisdictional amendments issued by local building departments, and municipal zoning ordinances adopted by cities and counties.
Section-Specific Notice: Hoosh Tech LLC does not create, modify, or alter any regulatory codes or ordinances. All referenced materials are sourced from official publications issued by the relevant governmental authorities.
Use of Code Content
- Citations and References: We provide section citations and page/location references to the official, adopted sources.
- Images and Diagrams: Only diagrams/graphics contained in officially adopted publications are displayed; proprietary layouts are not reproduced.
- AI Code Assistant: Uses similarity search over a curated context built solely from officially adopted, publicly available regulatory materials, returning original, explanatory outputs with citations.
- AI Compliance Checker: Scans user-submitted plan files to extract discipline-specific checkpoints and evaluates them against rules lawfully extracted and structured by Hoosh Tech staff (and, where applicable, jurisdiction reviewers). It does not republish substantial portions of source text.
- Confidence & Human Review: If a required checkpoint cannot be confidently extracted, it is flagged as “Undetermined” and routed for human plan-checker review. This ensures completeness and accuracy before final determinations.
- Internal Processing: Documents are processed, vectorized, and indexed for internal retrieval and analysis; original texts are not redistributed.
Excluded Content
- Proprietary, non-adopted materials from ICC or any other commercial publisher (including commentaries, handbooks, and premium editions).
- Publisher-specific pagination, stylized layouts, or other proprietary presentation elements.
Legal Basis
Our approach is consistent with:
- U.S. Copyright Law (Title 17)
- Public rights to access government-adopted laws, codes, and standards
- U.S. Supreme Court decision in Georgia v. Public.Resource.Org (2020)
All content used is lawfully adopted and published by governmental entities and is utilized in an original, analytical, and transformative manner to support code compliance. If any discrepancy arises, the official source controls.
Disclaimer
Hoosh Tech LLC develops its AI tools to provide accurate, reliable, and practical assistance for code analysis and compliance. The AI Compliance Checker and related modules scan user-submitted plan files and documents, extract relevant checkpoints for each discipline, and evaluate those checkpoints against rules lawfully extracted and processed from jurisdictional legal documents by Hoosh Tech staff; jurisdictions may review, modify, add, or delete rules through their licensed professionals. Where the system cannot confidently extract a required checkpoint, it is labeled “Undetermined” for human plan-checker review. While every effort is made to ensure accuracy, AI systems may occasionally produce errors or incomplete information. Users should double-check critical results and verify compliance with applicable laws, codes, and regulations, and are encouraged to consult licensed professionals or the relevant governmental authorities where appropriate. By using our tools, you acknowledge that final responsibility for compliance rests with the user and the approving jurisdiction.
