Mike Vaghei
Mike is a Structural Engineer and expert in AI-driven automation, with over forty years of experience in design and technology implementation across the building industry. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Analysis, from the University of Southern California. His career includes ten years in structural engineering and over thirty years in enterprise software development, system architecture, compliance workflows, cybersecurity, AI solutions, and project leadership. Mike brings a rare blend of expertise in advanced AI technologies and large-scale business systems. He has led the successful creation of multiple multi-million-dollar projects from concept through execution.

Sia Poursabahian
Sia is a California-licensed Structural and Civil Engineer with over four decades of experience in both public and private sector development. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, and an Engineering Degree specializing in Structural Dynamics, from the University of Southern California. Throughout his career, Sia has held leadership positions in several Southern California municipalities—including Santa Monica, El Segundo, and Los Angeles—where he oversaw plan check, counter, permit application process, inspection, and code enforcement operations. He has streamlined the construction development review processes, and mentored the next generation of engineers and inspectors.
Our Story
Inefficient permit workflows, fragmented code checks, and endless revisions had long frustrated Sia. In November 2023, he approached his longtime friend Mike with an idea: to build a prototype for an AI-powered compliance check system focused on basic building projects within the City of Los Angeles. What started as a simple prototype quickly evolved into the most advanced AI-powered compliance platform for the built environment—covering all major regulatory disciplines. Together, they assembled a talented team of local and international designers and full-stack developers to build a comprehensive, professional-grade system. Their vision was clear: to dramatically reduce compliance review time—from weeks to minutes—through a centralized platform where project owners, architects, engineers, planners, contractors, builders, and jurisdiction professionals could also collaborate seamlessly.
Driven by the need for speed, accuracy, and transparency, they created the Hoosh Tech Portal—a platform designed to deliver faster, smarter, and more reliable plan checks. It combines deep knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and accessibility standards (including ADA and Title 24) with a hybrid engine that integrates rule-based logic and cutting-edge machine learning and natural language processing. The result is a seamless, intelligent workflow that automatically analyzes construction documents, checks for completeness and compliance while flagging potential issues before submission—saving time, reducing revisions, and accelerating approvals.
